DID YOU KNOW?

“The Cursillo Movement originated within a School of Leaders, and it was through the constant and coordinated efforts of the leaders of the School that it acquired its form, as well as its drive toward growth and improvement.” From The Fundamental Ideas of the Cursillo Movement; Article 530.

WHAT IS IT?

“The School is a community of Christians who, united in the atmosphere of a Group Reunion, seek every day to become more centered, more committed and more united, so as to accelerate in themselves, in the Movement, and in their environments the living out of what is fundamental for being a Christian.”  Fundamental Ideas; Article 540.

In other words, the School is a Group Reunion of Leaders, which meets regularly (weekly or monthly) to become a living Christian community of men and women who share the vision of the Cursillo Movement to evangelize our environments.

WHY ARE WE HERE?

We pray and prepare to acquire the necessary qualities of leadership:

  • Psychological maturity

  • Authenticity

  • Integrity

  • Capacity for openness of mind and heart

  • Capacity for friendship

  • Humility

With these qualities of leadership, we strive to:

  • Be in a state of progressive conversion through our Piety, Study and Action.

  • Live and understand the Cursillo Method (Group Reunion, Ultreya, and Spiritual Direction).

  • Continue to improve our knowledge and practical experience of the purpose of Cursillo.

WHAT DO WE DO?

The purpose of the School is to inspire, strengthen, and coordinate the Leaders within the Cursillo Movement.  We collectively provide each other, as members of the School, with opportunities for spiritual formation in general and, in particular, a better understanding of the Cursillo Movement and its methods.

We promote and assure the authenticity and integrity of the Cursillo Movement in all three phases:

  • Precursillo (identifying and preparing potential Candidates)

  • Cursillo Weekends (formation of Teams)

  • Postcursillo (Fourth Day)
